Maria Haskins is an LCO Ojibwe, Stockbridge, and Oneida Community Organizer with Menikanaehkem, working with the Youth Leadership Cohort, and also works closely with other initiatives in the organization such as Food Sovereignty and Women’s Leadership Cohort.
Maria has earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) from University Green Bay-Wisconsin. From college Maria pursued her career in Child Protection Services (CPS) where she received an array of trainings for crisis response (domestic violence, sexual assault, suicide, child abuse, neglect, peer bullying, and suicide) and drug endangered children. After seven years of working in CPS, Maria worked briefly with Crime Victims in which she was able to provide direct support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and neglect.
Maria now applies her trainings and experiences while working with Menikanaehkem where she works on a more preventative level within the community.
